Jessica Dodge-Overstreet is a dynamic saxophonist and educator. She’s been recognized for her expressive solo performances, having appeared as a soloist with the Northern Nevada String Serenade, University of Oregon Symphony Orchestra, Reno Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and others. Jessica has also performed as a soloist across the United States and internationally in France, Canada, and Russia. Jessica’s artistry has earned her recognition as a finalist in international competitions such as the North American Saxophone Alliance’s Collegiate Solo Competition and the Mu Phi Epsilon International Competition.

Her recent albums—Root (2023, Ravello Records) and Black & Gold (2019, self-released)—capture her passion for both new music and rediscovering overlooked works from classical music’s rich history. Root features transcriptions of works by 19th-century women composers, while Black & Gold presents newly commissioned pieces for saxophone and clarinet. Jessica is a frequent collaborator with living composers and has helped premiere and commission new works by David Biedenbender, Jenni Watson, Viet Cuong, and many others.

In demand as a chamber and ensemble musician, Jessica has performed with the Reno Philharmonic and Sunriver Festival Orchestra, and as a soloist in concert series such as Artown, Cascadia Composers, and Trinity Episcopal Cathedral’s Pipes on the River. She has held faculty positions at Mesa Community College and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, and currently teaches classical saxophone at the University of Nevada, Reno.

Jessica holds a D.M.A. in saxophone performance from Arizona State University, an M.M. from the University of Oregon, and a B.M. from the University of North Texas. She is an active member of the North American Saxophone Alliance and Mu Phi Epsilon.

When not performing, Jessica enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her cairn terrier, Duckie.
